Brazil’s Supreme Court (STF) has placed two landmark cases on its August 2026 agenda with major implications for businesses and infrastructure. On August 12, the Court will examine ADIs 7913, 7916, 7919, and ADC 102, challenging the constitutionality of the General Environmental Licensing Law (Law No. 15,190/2025) — a critical regulation for infrastructure projects nationwide. On August 27, the Court will resume judgment of RE 1,446,336 (General Repercussion Theme 1,291), which will determine whether an employment relationship exists between app-based drivers and digital platforms, a decision with potential structural consequences for the technology sector and platform-based business models.
