Regulation of relevance filter for STJ appeals sent for presidential approval

Bill 3,085/2026, authored by Senator Davi Alcolumbre, was approved by the Chamber of Deputies without amendments and sent for presidential signature. The bill regulates the relevance filter for special appeals at the STJ pursuant to Constitutional Amendment 125/2022, requiring cases to demonstrate economic, political, social, or legal relevance beyond the parties’ interests to be reviewed by the Court. The text amends the Code of Civil Procedure (CPC) and particularly impacts corporate and contractual disputes.
