Brazil’s Supreme Court sets 60-day deadline for big techs to meet new Internet Civil Rights Framework obligations

On June 11, 2026, Brazil’s Supreme Court (STF) formed a majority to grant digital platforms a 60-day deadline to implement structural obligations stemming from its ruling on civil liability for third-party content, including a duty of care to prevent the spread of serious illegal content and the requirement to maintain a legal representative in Brazil. Final proclamation of the binding thesis was expected on June 17, 2026.
