STF moves big tech appeals to physical plenary; platforms react to Lula's decrees

Justice Dias Toffoli withdrew from the STF's virtual plenary agenda nine appeals filed by major digital platforms against the expanded liability ruling for user-generated content, transferring the case to a yet-unscheduled in-person session. Simultaneously, associations representing Meta, Google and TikTok issued an open letter against Decrees No. 12,975 and 12,976/2026, warning of legal uncertainty, excessive content removal, and disproportionate compliance burdens on companies of different sizes.
