STJ releases overview of 39 binding rulings from the first half of 2026, with significant impact on business law

The Superior Court of Justice (STJ) published a roundup of 39 binding precedents established in the first half of 2026, consolidating the interpretation of federal law across multiple fields. Two themes are particularly relevant to business law: Theme 1,210 reaffirmed that actual proof of abuse — fraudulent purpose or asset confusion — is required to disregard corporate legal personality in civil and business relationships; and Theme 1,391 ruled that condominium debts, even those incurred before bankruptcy protection is sought, are extrajudicial credits and may be enforced in the competent civil court.
