KWA Group’s judicial reorganization resumes amid accounting fraud allegations

Courts in Alagoas authorized, on June 22, 2026, the continuation of KWA Group’s judicial reorganization, which had been suspended after creditor banks (Safra, Itaú and Santander) flagged a roughly R$150 million discrepancy between financial statements given to lenders and those filed with the reorganization request. The judicial administrator found no fraudulent use of the proceeding and recommended it move forward, without prejudice to separate proceedings examining the accounting dispute.
