APM Terminals opens Latin America’s first fully electrified container terminal in Suape

On June 12, 2026, the new APM Terminals container terminal was inaugurated at the Suape Industrial Port Complex (Pernambuco), the first fully electrified facility of its kind in Latin America, representing a R$2.1 billion investment. The structure is expected to expand the port’s handling capacity by 55%, with operations slated to begin in August 2026.
