Chamber of Deputies schedules vote on Artificial Intelligence Legal Framework for May 27

The Chamber of Deputies scheduled a plenary vote on Brazil’s Artificial Intelligence Legal Framework (Bill 2,338/2023) for May 27, 2026, with rapporteur Representative Aguinaldo Ribeiro (PP-PB) presenting the report on May 19, per the schedule agreed with House Speaker Hugo Motta. The bill classifies AI systems by risk level, sets obligations for developers and operators, and designates the ANPD as the residual regulatory authority. The framework aims to balance innovation with the protection of fundamental rights and greater legal certainty for businesses and users.
