CADE definitively archives Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery merger process in Brazil

Brazil’s antitrust authority, CADE (Administrative Council for Economic Defense), formally concluded and definitively archived its review of the merger between Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery — valued at USD 111 billion — without imposing any restrictions. The agency determined that the integration of the two major studios poses no risk to fair competition in the Brazilian market, as the combined market share of the Max and Paramount+ platforms remains below 20%, with strong competitive pressure from other streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, Globoplay, and Amazon Prime Video.
