Senate examines modernization of Brazil’s mandatory toll voucher law for road freight

The Senate’s Infrastructure Commission (CI) examined on May 18 a bill modernizing Brazil’s mandatory toll-voucher legislation for road freight transport. The proposal allows advance toll payment to be recorded directly in the electronic transport document (CT-e), eliminating the need for physical receipts and simplifying the contractual relationship between carriers and shippers. If approved without appeal in the CI, the bill will proceed to the Chamber of Deputies, representing significant advances in legal certainty and operational efficiency in the logistics sector.
